A compact Hilux field-service configuration that balances open-centre Canopex® carrying space with secure storage, onboard power and dedicated ladder handling.

Designed around compact field capability, this Toyota Hilux configuration brings storage, power, lighting and external equipment handling together in one integrated service-body package.

The half-open-centre Canopex® body preserves a dedicated carrying zone while secure cabinets, drawers and underbody boxes manage tools and equipment. Dual ladder slides, a high-voltage stick holder and lockable conduit carrier add task-specific carrying capability, while auxiliary power and work lighting support operation away from fixed facilities.

The Challenge:
Field vehicles often need to carry a mix of tools, long equipment and electrical accessories without sacrificing access or usable load space. For this specification, the requirement appears to centre on combining secure storage with ladder and conduit handling, onboard electrical capability and practical lighting.

The exact UGL application is not stated in the source and should be confirmed before publication. The equipment list, however, clearly points to a configuration intended for mobile field support rather than general cargo transport.

The RXI Solution:
RXI specified an 1800 mm two-door Canopex® half-open-centre aluminium body with 1350 mm cabinets and a 450mm tray area. Manual gullwing access opens to a storage layout that includes a custom four-drawer Cargoswift unit, top shelving, a carpeted false floor, a 1600 mm underbody drawer, an auxiliary-battery box and an additional underbody box.

The electrical package centres on a 125Ah AGM auxiliary battery, 25A Redarc BCDC charging system and 1500W pure-sine-wave inverter with in-built RCD. Lighting includes an amber beacon, two 25W work lights and a dual-colour flood light.

External carrying capability is handled through RXI alloy bars, 3.0 m and 2.6 m ladder slides, a cable ladder lock, a high-voltage stick holder and a 1.8 m lockable conduit carrier, with a dual rear safety step supporting vehicle access

The Result:
This Toyota Hilux combines secure storage, onboard power, work lighting and dedicated ladder and long-equipment handling in one compact field-service setup, helping technicians stay organised, access equipment efficiently and work more effectively away from fixed facilities.
