TOMSA NW Fitout – Service Body, Safety, Storage & Electrical Upgrades
We delivered a field-ready solution for Zinfra by converting a Ford Ranger Extra Cab into a fully equipped service vehicle tailored for utility operations.
The fit-out includes a Canopex service body, 3000W inverter, dual battery system, dedicated storage, and a range of lighting and safety upgrades.
With heavy-duty ladder handling and a practical, purpose-built design, this build is made to perform reliably in demanding field conditions.
Key Requirements
- A full-length aluminium Canopex service body (2100L x 1850W x 900H) was mounted on the chassis, featuring powered gullwing side doors, split lower side doors, and a standard rear door—all in a colour-matched 2Pak paint finish.
- Interior safety and lighting enhancements included a 3-door E-Pac system with LED roof lights, central locking, door alerts, a door buzzer, and swivel lighting.
- Electrical and power upgrades feature a 3000W inverter with RCD protection, dual Anderson plugs, and a BCDC 25A dual battery system paired with a 100Ah lithium battery.
- Storage solutions include underbody aluminium drawers, a Cargosturdy drawer unit (800L x 600W x 260H), a Shelving Unit with adjustable shelves, and integrated parts bins.
- External enhancements included LED flush-mounted reverse lights, rotating beacons, hazard flashers, squawker reverse alarm, and a ladder lock system wired to an in-cabin alert.
- Additional field-ready features included a 15L undertray water tank with soap bottle, underbody battery box, dual rear safety steps, a conduit tube carrier, jump start system, Black Duck canvas seat covers, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, and full decal pack.
- Ladder management was addressed with dual 3.0m ladder slide systems and rollers on both driver and passenger sides, with folded beacon mounts and 3-bar roof support.
