RXI delivered a fully customised Ford Ranger Extra Cab for AusNet’s Crew Leader Metro operations, designed for durability, compliance, and field efficiency. The build integrates a half-open Canopex body with powered gullwing doors, lithium-powered dual battery system, and a 2000W inverter to support critical tools and communications. With advanced storage solutions, reverse safety systems, ladder slides, work lights, and onboard utilities like a fridge and water tank, this vehicle provides AusNet crews with everything needed to operate safely and productively in demanding environments.

Key Requirements
  • Canopex half-open centre service body (2100L x 1850W x 900H) with centrally locked gullwing doors, compliant mounting system, and upgraded tail light channels.
  • Underbody drawer, tapered underbody boxes, Client-specific shelving, custom four-drawer cargo swift units, and conduit carriers for secure and efficient equipment handling.
  • Reverse sensors and alarm with mute relay, fire extinguishers, knapsack fire fighter, traffic cone holders, reinforced steps, reflective decals, and GVM upgrade to 3500kg.
  • Lithium dual-battery system with Redarc BCDC charger, 2000W pure sine inverter, Anderson plugs, E-Pac kit with central locking, interior LED lighting, and door alert system.
  • Cel-Fi 5G repeater, UHF radio, Engel fridge, and full wiring integration for reliable in-field connectivity.
  • Heavy-duty LED work lights, search lamps, ladder racks with slides and straps, tie-down tracks, undertray water tank with soap dispenser, recovery points, and all-terrain tyres.
